Fun in the Fall
Name of Maker: NancyAnn1959
Fun in the Fall - I have made several quilts from patterns by McKenna Ryan. Her patterns are very easy to follow, yet look very complex. I used many different colored threads for the machine quilting. I traced real maple leaves and free-motion quilted around them in the border.
Irish Salute
Name of Maker: Judy Welch
Irish Salute - Great quilt that has graced our bedroom for 10 years. I made valances to match.
Tropical Stars
Name of Maker: dcoutant
Tropical Stars - My Dad lives in Florida, so I wanted something "cool" for the hot climate. The pastel fabric was perfect, and I was going through a "star" phase. When I found the palm tree fabric I knew it was meant to finish this top, and thus came the name Tropical Stars. The free motion quilting in the border was my first attempt at that, so although not great, it is definately "handmade", and helped me imporve my skills.
Blowfish and Friend
Name of Maker: dcoutant
Blowfish and Friend - Started this in a Ruth McDowell workshop based on an underwater photo my daughter took while diving in Mexico. I loved Ruth's process, and plan to make more with this method.
1st Landscape Quilt
Name of Maker: she-quilts
1st Landscape Quilt - Katie, of Platteville, Wisconsin, gave a workshop for our guild. I loved her work and was very excited about the workshop. She gave us a square of fabric to start for our background and we had an assortment of fabrics to add. We could also use her stash pile spread over a few large tables. She helped us along during the day. The fabrics are cut w/ pinking shears and spray basted to the background. I quilted it later w/ monofilament thread. I love the final result!! I'd love to do more of these but my stash isn't what I'd need to have the selection of appropriate fabrics to choose from.
Eagle Quilt
Name of Maker: she-quilts
Eagle Quilt - My guild secret sister gave me the pattern in '06. I found a kit of fabrics to complete the top at Susan's Calico Creations in Fulton, IL. The cutting of each tree took 45 mins. Lots of little cutting! This hangs above my computer area and I love it. :-)
Heaven and Earth
Name of Maker: Carol Bailey
Heaven and Earth - I started quilting classes in October 2006 with Mary Wasley where I learned solid beginning technique, quilting confidence, and the realization that I was not a "by the pattern" person. After a course based on S.Cummings book: "Thinking Outside the Block", again with Mary, I realized if I could "think" or "feel" an idea, I could quilt it. Well, the wonderful world of creative quilting opened up for me - and it is a joy! Roger's quilt hangs on the wall above our bed, and works very well with the art prints we have by J.Miro also in our bedroom. For this reason, I don't know if it would be considered an Art Quilt or an Contemporay Quilt. You decide.
Treasure Box
Name of Maker: Sue Laughton
Treasure Box - I found out about a program that the local stamp store was sponsoring, where they were giving out small "matchbox" kits. You decorate it however you like, put a treasure inside & return it to the store. In October, all the decorated boxes will go on sale for $5, with the monies going to the Breast Cancer fund at Pomona Valley Hospital, which helps cancer patients with wigs, taxi rides, etc. I'm not a stamper, so I made a paper pieced quilt for the top of the box! Total size is 2" X 3.5". I also made a pink & turquoise glass bead bracelet for the "treasure".
Ribbon Stars
Name of Maker: Amy Reitzel
Ribbon Stars - 12 different fabrics are used to make the stars. There are 576 half square triangles in the quilt. Made for my nephew's high school graduation present.
A Light for Your Path
Name of Maker: Carol Bailey
A Light for Your Path - "A Light for Your Path" was designed and made as a wheel chair quilt for my dear sister-in-law Kate Thiersch, sadly recently deceased.
Harvest 1
Name of Maker: Carol Bailey
Harvest 1 - I participated in a fabric dying & thread painting class taught by Coreen Zerr of Nanaimo, and the result was "Harvest 1". "Harvest 1" is a wall quit and hangs in our main stairwell. Lately, it seems to be wanting more quilting, so we shall see.

Families are forever
Name of Maker: Cinda Biggs
Families are forever - This is a mini wall hanging with lots of meaning for our family. When I saw it for sale at the Quilt and Craft show I knew I had to make it. It is almost finished just hand quilting left to do around the outer squares. Piecing is by machine and has fusible applique and embroidery. I used porcelain buttons to add some fun. Quilting is all by hand. I hope to finish it this weekend.
Rodeo Roundup
Name of Maker: lbarnes
Rodeo Roundup - This is my first stack-n-whack quilt. I used layered printed pillow panels to experiment with and was pleasantly surprised. My youngest son liked it so much he took it to college with him last year and now all his friends want one too!

Thea's Opus
Name of Maker: lbarnes
Thea's Opus - This quilt was a "thank-you" to my three children's high school music teacher who retired in 2006. Each block is a photo transfer of the poster of each of the eighteen musicals she directed while at WCS.
25th Anniversary Challenge
Name of Maker: lbarnes
25th Anniversary Challenge - The quilt shop I most frequent had a 25th anniversary challenge. You had a choice of 4 fabrics and had to use at least 3 along with any others of your choosing and quilt could be no larger than 36 X 36. I used all 4, three for the top and one for the back and you could use any pattern or genre in the process.
