Threaded Wedding Ring (BACK) - This is the back of the quilt that won 2nd place at the IQA Houston show. The centers of the rings and the border embroideries were embroidered seperately from the front and matched up with the front before quilting. The rings are quilted from the front. the rest of the quilt was machine quilted on my Babylock Quilter's Professional machine using trapunto and lots of background stitching. It has a two sided binding and a corded edge.
Nowegian Flower Garden - This is an applique pattern that I did by making freezer paper stencils and painting with Paintstiks. I loved to look of Rosemalling and being Norwegian I had to have the pattern. But after 5 years and no time to applique I decided using by Paintstiks I could get the quilt finished.
Vehicles in motion - Start quilt for Aaron when he was 5...he kept asking to add newly purchased cars, truck, motorcycles and semis - I knew I had to finish it before the quilt became too large!!!!
Mask - Made in workshop with Karen Musgrave, using stitch & flip piecing and Karen's technique for creating "puzzle pieces" that fit together precisely and are joined edge to edge.
Floral Fanfare - The flowers were fussy cut and embellished with decorative threads and stitches-- Some were not stitched down to create dimension. Three repeating bargello motifs were used in the border.
Funtastic Forty - A Moda fabric panel and coordinating fabrics from the Camp Wilderness line were used. Blocks reflect 40 years of son's life. They were machine pieced and appliqued using various techniques.
