Mr. McGregor's Garden - 30 different appliqued bunnies by hand and blanket stitch outline of each, each made with small prints and put together with patchwork strips and small four square corner stones. Queen size, bottom corner borders have carrot and peas appliqued, back has appliqued vegetables around the edge.

Sewing circles - Made from four patch squares and muslin squares between batting, cut in 7 1/2 inch circles, quilted then sewn together to form on one side a cathedral window design and a patch work of multi- colored and multi-pattern triangles on the other side. Each square was quilted in free motion doodling design
scrappy spiderweb

scrappy spiderweb - Made from multi-colored square of 3 sizes, cut to form a spiderweb effect then layered, stitched leaving frayed edges then cut into 4 small squares then sewed back into large blocks, using mixed squares. When large blocks are sewn together they form two patterns, a web and a 4 point flowered design.

Out of the box - My first attempt at an original design using Ricky's book on my own with purchased fabric from the nearest Walmart and trying to understand the meaning of convergence. The parrots and bright colors lent themselves to my first out of the box quilt. I'm waiting for more practice and confidence before attempting free motion quilting.

Dragons Among Us - Loved the panel. It only had 15 squares, I needed 16 so I used the salvage strips and leftover border colors to create the last square. See bottom right square, it turned out great and solved the problem.

Colorado Sunflowers

Colorado Sunflowers - using rail fence, 9 patch and 9 patch variation, flying geese, log cabin and friendship blocks set together in sets of 4, then sashed together using fall colors accenting the sunflower golds. It is edged with gold triangles to simulate petals. Border is soldiers made from strips of all fabrics used. I started this in my first quilting class, the project was a small sampler quilt which i made into a queen size.

turtles, turtles, turtlesl - Nine different turtle patterns hand appliqued onto 18 8inch muslin squares set on point and sashed together with light green sashing and dark green corner stones then bordered with three different fabric strips. All colors are in greens and browns. Each turtle is outlined with black embroidered blanket stitch. some have further embroidered details. Made for one of my grandsons. A frog on each corner may make their way onto it before it is quilted.

Emily's Forest - Tall trees, deep forest, West Coast, Emily Carr. My quilt shows British Columbia’s great forests – a theme that Emily Carr used in many of her most famous paintings. I read about Emily Carr’s life as an artist when making this quilt. A quote from one of her journals will stay with me always: “This is my country. What I want to express is here and I love it.”

Arabesque - Arabesque relates to the decorative melodies of classical music. This ornate and symmetrical design incorporates curves and intricate geometric patterns. I concentrated on colour, shape, line and decorative quilting designs. All curves are machine pieced.
