Alzheimers Quilt Project - I made this quilt as an original pattern for the Alzheimers Quilt Project for my friend, Alicia Hunt. She is in the beginning stages of Alzheimers. This is the second quilt that I have made and quilted for her. This particular quilt will be going to the Alzheimers Quilt Project auction.
Seminole Sampler - Seminaole bands are great fun to make. You slice, stitch, slice again, and stitch again to get the complicated designs. I taught this as a class and the ladies made beautiful and unique quilts.
Victorian Virtuoso - This quilt used and extension of Colourque(R) and this time I tried using just mono colour - two shades of blue, sealed and then outline free quilted the design. I then background quilted using Masterpiece thread - I love that thread and use it for all piecing and a lot of quilting.
Fairy Kisses - This quilt was designed to use Colourque and the fairy theme my 3 girlie girls love and adore... It used my most favourite Robyn Pandolph fabrics of the time and I learnt a lot whilst designing and perfecting it.
Constantine Farm - This one was designed at the request for boys stuff, but not sure that it is still very boyish. I used a cartoon look for the colourque/stitchery blocks and all designs were based on my sisters farm and family.... Not sure they like how I represented them tho, they are not really that hick!! I did all the outline stitching with just black thread. My friend made up the pattern in lovely girly colours and I must say I like that one better....
Wisteria Rambling - This quilt was designed, pieced and colourque'd by me. The quilting was designed and done by Tracey Browning. We were invited to design and make two quilts for the 2007 Quilt for a Cure projects for 2007 in conjunction with Universal Magazines and Lloyd Curzon Textiles. The quilt project will appear in the SEpt issue of Quilters Companion and will then be auctioned off with proceeds going to the Breast Cancer foundation. We did another for HOmespun Magazine...
Virginia's Water Garden - This Quilt was to be a present for my Mom. My mom passed away before it was finished, so I finished it in her honor at the first anniversary of her death. There are woven blocks and embroidered butterflies and water lilies.
Under the Sea - This quilt is made with pieced and scrunched fabric background. There is machine embroidery, machine applique, and thread painting on this quilt
Gradient Squares aka Scrappy 2 - This quilt is attemp 2, to use my scraps. It was fun to play with color placement.I attached 2 embroidered butterflies. I usually hide at least one butterfly on my personal quilts.
Theres a Garden in my Parrot - Made for a challenge sponsored by Hobby Horse. The challenge fabric was a tropical print with parrots. I simplified the parrot design and couched a string of beads for the outline. Then filled it with dimensional flowers from Elly Sienkiewicz book.
