red, white, and black allover - The center started out with four square in a square blocks as the first round in a round robin, each progressive round was added by four other members of the Urban Bush Quilters small quilt group as part of a year long group project. Each round had specific guidelines, such as rectangles, putting block on point, applique, etc.

What's a Little Dog Hair? - This was a jacket I made for the Pfaff Creative Consultants fashion show when I used to work for Pfaff. It was accepted into the traveling show that year and toured the country. Neat! I am a dog freak and love to make dog themed clothing and quilts. I have a hard time cleaning my projects when they're done because of all the dog hair in my house and studio so I purposely made this one with fabric and yarns and threads that mimiced dog hair. It all just blends in. :)

Tropical Breeze

Petal Pixels - I use a computer to pixelate a picture from my camera/scanner. This quilt was developed from a scanning alstromeria lilly. Once I have the section of the picture in pixels, I go in with the stylus tool and pull a palette of colors. Using a simple color blending technique I use the pixel picture to order the placement of the fabric. Mother Nature always gets color theory correct!

Taking Shelter - Taking Shelter is a wool applique quilt pattern I developed for BBD Creations. It will be available at Fall Market in Houston, 2007. It is wool applique with silk leaves in a 3D "art quilt" format.

Fall Contra Dance - My friend and I went on a Quilting Retreat and one of the projects was the Contra Dance. Now I had originally purchased the pattern and had my own kit but when I saw the colors in this kit for sale I just had to get it! The picture doesnt do the fabrics justice. It's a really lush, regal looking top. As soon as the backing arrives it will be quilted and entered in my very first guild show in the spring!!

Reindeer Games - Raggy flannel quilt embellished with machine embroidery (designs from Emblibrary.com) of Santa and his reindeer. Blue and white on front, cream/red/green reverse.

Beach Quilt - I like utilitarian quilts. Also the fact that I finally used all those Home Dec samples lying around the sewing room. Use it for grandchildren visiting the beach near my home.

Echoes in Green - These blocks were modified to fit the smaller squares. I used batick fabric that I fell in love with. Not the traditional choice.

Ladies who are Friends - French fabric was a gift from the friend I made the quilt for. It was several patterns in strips which I cut apart and bought plain colors to bring together. The size was limited by the amount of the original fabric I had.

Sparkling Vases - I can't "just do" anything. The original design is stunning (brights on black). I didn't want to do that, so mine is a "negative" image -- -- more or less.

Feed Sack Quilt - I saved feed sacks for years and couldn't decide what to make with them. I took the plunge this year and finally have a quilt.

Feathered Star Baby - I used the published block pattern, but changed the sashing and did my first scalloped edge which was not part of the original pattern. It is for my first grandchild.

Quilter's Harley - This quilt was done by my art quilt groups. We keep challenging ourselve to work outside our normal boxes. It was made for my husband's birthday in 2006 and our reward was a gourmet meal that included the other ladies spouses. The biggest challenge was the chrome. Suprisingly the six pieces went together easy.
