Nancy's Cuban Buttercups - My friend Nancy takes wonderful photographs. This shot of Cuban Buttercups (Turneria ulmifolia) looked like it would make an interesting quilt. It is machine appliqued, embroidered and quilted. The fabrics are batiks. I used a bit of paint stick to darken the centers.

News to me: Boca Grande - This is a "clipart collage" inspired by the newspaper articles about giant iguanas invading the resort town of Boca Grande. I accidentally rotary cut the bottom off during construction. Maybe rotary cutters could be used against the iguanas.

Bad Sue disorients sea turtles - Bad Sue is at it again. On the Florida coast it is illegal to have lights on in the sea turtle nesting areas. Sue shines her flashlight to draw the hatchlings away from the water.

We might even get a picture of our quilt in her book when it came out. If we made a quilt, we would get a free book. My quilt didn't get in the book, but I had a lot of fun making the quilt!!

Founders Day Quilt - I won this quilt at the Foxboro Founder's Day Celebration several years ago. It was raffled by the NewComers Group in town as a fund raiser. But I know nothing about the quilter or the pattern - the quilt did not have a lable. I do know it was long arm machine quilted by Linda Publicover of All About Quilts Walpole, MA.

AHQG 2004 Raffle Quilt

AHQG 2004 Raffle Quilt - This quilt was made as the raffle quilt for the Artful Hands Quilt Guilds 2004 Show. Cindy Cantin and I did the embroidery, I did the construction and Linda Publicover did the long arm quilting. I was president and Show Chair that year. Another member, Sandy White, won the quilt. At the last meeting of the year the guild presented it back to me as the end of the year - Sandy had donated it back to the guild. I was speechless. It was a wonderful gift.

Ian the rabbit

Ian the rabbit - This quilt was made for Melissa on the occasion of her going to the University. The quilt is named after her then pet Ian, since she could not keep a pet on the university campus ground the quilt sought of consoled her. Today Ian is no more but the memory lives on. I have hand quilted Ian on the centre of the blocks.
