Skulls and Country Roads
Name of Maker: Kesten Blake

Kesten's Hearts
Name of Maker: Kesten Blake
Kesten's Hearts - A clean-out-my-stash project, this one was slow and laborous to produce.
My Irish Chain
Name of Maker: Kesten Blake
My Irish Chain - This quilt followed closely on the heels of Elanore Burns' log cabin quilts. I saw a pattern in a magazine that I liked and purchased the fabric, but I just knew I could make the quilt using Elanore's strip piecing methods. After many nights trying to figure out how to do that, I cam up with my solutions and make the quilt top. When we returned to the United States, I discovered that Elanore had published her approach to the double Irish chainn. I was pleased to see that she had come up with many of the same solutions I had devised. This is the last quilt I will ever hand quilt. Over the course of several years (yes, years -- that's why I won't do another), using an oval frame on a stand and moving the fabric in the frame as I quilted, I finished the quilting. Thanks Elanore for devising a way that a busy mother and full time teacher can still enjoy quilting!
Jennifer and David Wedding Quilt
Name of Maker: Staff at La Habra High School
Jennifer and David Wedding Quilt - This large quilt was created by many members of La Habra High School as a wedding gift for Jennifer, the Principal of the school. The colors were chosen because they represented the favorite colors of the bride and groom. Planning, cutting, sewing, turning and pressing were all accomplished in the computer lab after hours. Members working on the quilt included English teachers, Math teachers, art teachers, and clerical staff. Truely a labor of love
