Fractured Crystals - I originally was making this for myself. I loved the pattern. But as I was sewing I kept thinking about my friend. After awhile I knew this wasn't my quilt anymore, I had to send it to my friend. This has happened to a couple of quilts I've made.
Delectable Mountains - I had been gathering my favorite batiks and Amy Butler fabrics when I came across this pattern by Mabeth Oxenreider in American Patchwork & Quilting Magazine. I new it would be the perfect pattern to put all those favorite fabrics together in one place.
Dancing Tulips - Sheer fabric incorporating purple chenille and gold thread tulips (salvaged from a thrift store blouse) is fused over commercial cotton print. Butterflies are beads. Inner border of piping covered with same commercial cotton fabric. Border is commercial cotton twill, binding is another commercial cotton print. Finished April, 2007.
Pink and Green - I made this gift for Robin Roberts of "Good Morning America"...when she announced that she had breast cancer I felt I needed to show my support by making her a place to snuggle under and get better.
Crater Lake - Ricky Tims helped me design this quilt at his Rocky Mountain Quilt retreat in 2004. Crater Lake was where I had my first job . It was a stretch for me. My ideas are ahead of my skill level but with each new quilt I learn something.
Quilt in progress - This top has now been hand quilted, and when bound will be donated to New Hope Village of Carroll, Iowa for their benefit auction in October, 2008. The basic block is Old Maid's Puzzle.
Baskets of Love - My sister wanted a small quilt to have in the car with her as she has arthritis and loves to have her legs covered while travelling long distances
