Turning over a new leaf - I took a class in Duluth, Mn with Laura on threads, and purchased one of her other patterns. I did add the leaves in the corner which were not in the pattern. I also added thread painting on the leaves.
Stars...Forever - I designed this quilt as a tribute to my dad who was in the US Army for 37 years and my son, Sean, who is in the Army and, at the time, serving his second 14-month tour in Iraq. (I'm happy to say he is now safely home!
Horn of Plenty for a New Century - I redrafted patterns that first appeared as a series quilt in The Kansas City Star in 1932. Where Eveline Foland defined her images with embroidery, I used applique. So leaves are two fabrics and stems are appliqued.
Thinking Baltimore - Tresa and I hold a retreat the last weekend in February we call The Annual Euphoric Applique and Quilting Getaway. We have participants come from all over the country. Tresa designed the project for 2006 and this is my rendition.
The USA in Floral Abundance - Map of USA-using State flower fabric-each State has a small label attached with pertinent information about the State. All states bordered with fusible 1/4" seam binding.
Red October - Large Star quilt using Kona Bay Emporers collection. Machine quilted on home machine with 30 wt madeira and invisible thread. Traditional Japanese Crests are free motion quilted in the setting blocks.

Texans' Tribute to America - This quilt was made for our guild's annual drawing by the small group The Cutups. Margaret was the force behind us completing the quilt by deadline. Unfortunately she passed away last November. Margaret embroidered the words on her Bernina and made flowers. Ellen made the church and big flag. Johanna made the eagle and mountains. Shelly made the torch. Barb made the bell. Paulette made the star flag block. I made the red cross and Texas flag blocks.
My Garden Grows Organic - This is a whole cloth, dye-painted quilt, with a dye-painted binding. It was quilted with about 15 different colors of thread to enhance the design.
