Troy's Bear Paw Quilt - This is still in the quilting stage . It will be finished hand quilting soon as it is a gift for our youngest son for his home in Illinois. Christmas is six months away and hope to deliver it ourselves this year. (Would love to see snow again ! )
Thai Dreamin' - I made and donated this quilt for the St. Jude/Hancock Fabrics Quilt of Dreams contest. It is based on a patient's dream to go to Thailand and shows kite flying in Sanam Luang, Bankok and elephant riding in Chiang Mai.
The Manatee - Made for guild challenge. Rules were to make something depicting Florida - yesterday, today, or tomorrow. Underwater area overlaid with sheer fabric for "shimmer."
Sunshine and Shadow in Pink - I ordered the book immediately after seeing Blanch Young demonstrate Sunshine and Shadow on Simply Quilts. The picture doesn't do it justice.
Terry's - Made for my husband to celebrate his Master's Degree and given to him on his birthday. One of the first I've quilted on my mid-arm and I'm not very good at straight lines yet.
My Favorite Things - My entry in a Wal*Mart contest with the theme "My Favortie Things." I won at the local level and then lost owndership when it was sent to corporate for the national judging. Current locationi unknow.
Paris Breeze - I was making a class sample from this pattern and realized after a couple blocks were made that I was going to have to change them to "on point" or my trees were going to lean as if they were in a hurricane!! LOL...(not a mistake...a "design opportunity!) I loved the way it turned out!!
unnamed - Presumably made by unknown family member, probably in the area of Nunda, NY. Top is from 3rd quarter of 19th century, per AQS appraiser. One of my most prized possessions.
Prairie Album - Originally designed as a block-of-the-month to teach hand applique techniques. Eventually became a book, published by Kansas City Star Books.
