Name of Maker: joytoquilt
Purple Mountain Majesties - Made as a wedding gift for my niece and her husband. She loves purple and gray and has contemporary design taste, so this was perfect. All fabrics are batiks.
Cyclones Lone Star
Name of Maker: Karen Good
Cyclones Lone Star - This is a lone star wall hanging made with Iowa State University Cyclones fabric. I fussy cutted the Cyclones, Cy, Iowa State, and I State from the fabric to insert in the design. The pattern came with interfacing design that was used to iron on and sew the 2 1/2"x5 1/2" strips of fabric on the interfacing pattern. I did all the sewing and stippling myself. It was bought at the Cardinal and Gold Gala so am not certain who purchased the wall hanging. Also put a hanging sleeve on the back.

Sam

Sam

Name of Maker: Wendy Bain
Sam - I met Sue at the Houston show shortly after my dog died. She had patterns of other black labs, but they didn't say "Sam" to me. From photos, Sue designed the Sam pattern, and as soon as I opened it, I could see MY dog! The quilting is a scribbling technique that is super fast and easy. Sue has become a good friend and she has treated me to several one-on-one classes in her studio.

Connected
Name of Maker: Carol Moellers
Connected - This little quilt is my contribution to the IQA Silent Auction. I used Robert Kaufman Roll-Ups and a AccuQuilt Equilaterial triangle die to cut all the 800+ triangles. If you look closely you can see all the little triangles. The Roll-Ups had the perfect color pallet to select from. It was fun playing with value to give this quilt the 3-D illusion. This quilt has been also enter in AccuQuilt Quilter's Spotlight Contest..... https://www.accuquilt.com/spotlight/connected.html If you like it, click on the I heart it button. As most of you know all my quilts have a meaning that surrounds them. This one is to symbolize the intermingling of artist and quilters and how we become connected with interacting with one another. To me quilting is an expressive outlet, so I choose a bright, vibrant color pallet to express the feelings one gets when you meet someone special. That feeling that electrifies and inspires you to step out of your box.
