My Alter Ego - Long an admirer of Yvonne Porcella's free-style faces BUT afraid to tackle one UNTIL the latest issue of The Quilt Life arrived and gave me the confidence to make my own. She hangs near my sewing machine in my new sewing studio. She's what I often look like when I am spending more time un-sewing than sewing. I'm retired and just LOVING the sewing space and the time to do things I've long wanted to do but never had the courage AND I've used a number of the patterns and kits I've purchased over the years. THANKS to Ricky Tims for the lesson on machine applique -- Love that technique. Happy Quilting to All
A Promise Kept - A promise made to best friend prior to dying of breast cancer.all future grand children would receive

My quilt won a 1st prize at my local Quilt show and the International Quilt Festival of Ireland requested I send it to their show in 2013 to be featured in one of their exhibits :)

Alef-Bet - From the moment I began quilting in 2006 I loved appliqué and I began working on this Hebrew sampler. I'm donating to the Jewish school where my sister is a teacher, the name of the letters are embroidered in white under each block, so the kids can practice learning from a distance, and then check their work up close.
Sitting Pretty - Pelican body was made by fusing white fabric that was cut out to denote feathers over black fabric and then sewing around each feather. Head and neck were also plain white fabric. I then used Derwent Inktense pencils to provide color to head, neck and body. Background is hand dyed Ricky Tims fabric.
Gyleen's Mystery Bed Runner - Polygon II Mystery quilt designed by Gyleen of ColourfulStitches.com. Mystery clues were sent via email to everyone who had signed up.
The Jewel in the Lotus - I started this quilt in 2011 shortly after attending the Ricky Tim's Super Seminar on Cape Cod (I was the local event coordinator). It took me 2 1/2 years to complete. It was a gift to my daughter and her husband for their 12th anniversary.
Handprints - This quilt was made as a retirement gift for a kindergarten teacher. Her class printer their handprints onto stabilized fabrics and were combined into the quilt.
In the Land of Oz - It is a landscape quilt with my dog Ozzy over looking a lake... It was inspired one day when I took him down to our lake close to our home and he was having a good time near the water..It was a peaceful ,beautiful day in which I tried to capture in the quilt..
Garden Star - Designed and entered in Quilt Alliance "20" Contest. Fused Star with fabric of my flower photographs. Bead Embellished, Beaded fringe at bottom. Will go to auction December 2013.
