Harmony - I love hand embroidery so I thought this would be a great mix of techniques. The Chinese characters are actually embroidered and then colored with a permanent marker. I love China, And I love my quilt.

Udderly Green with Envy - Front says "The Grass is Always Greener" and shows a cow looking over the fence at greener pastures. The back says "On the Other Side of the Fence." Quilt was inspired by Out of the Box with Easy Blocks by MaryLou Weidman and Melanie McFarland.

Train Tracks - I bought snuggle flannel fabric with trains on it and then cozy flannels with colors pulled from the trains. I cut them into 3 1/2 squares and 3 1/2 x 6 1/2 inch rectangles and laid them out in a brick pattern

morris trellis - Made using wiiliam morris style fabric, designed to look like flowers growing up a garden trellis, paper pieced

melted moments - Srappy Quilt Made using old family cloths and fabric scraps, in shades of pink, paper pieced

Pickle dish - I wanted to be able to hang this on the wall, so I added a border to make it square.

Mrs. C's Ride - This is a 14"x14" wall quilt of the school bus I drive. I made it from a photograph I took of my bus. The students on my bus call me "Mrs. C" - and I call my bus my ride :)

5th Annual Big Island Quilt Shop Hop - 2013 - The I'iwi, or red honey creeper, is found in the fern forest of Volcano. At one time they were hunted for their beautiful red feathers that the Hawaiian Royalty worn on their capes. They have a beautiful song that can be heard in the fern forests of Volcano's National Park.
