A hug for my sister - My sister had broken her arm, and I raided her Facebook friends requesting they send get well wishes. I pieced top, Bonnie Spoon added border and back and did machine quilting in an all over pattern of sewing tools.
Eliza's Hug - Adapted to large twin size. Jane cut assorted batiks and send secretly to family and friends, who returned with get well wishes. Adapted to suit returned squares and include blank squares for additional signatures. Margaret arranged and pieced squares; Bonnie quilted in all over butterfly pattern. Jane finished binding.
Autumnal Fantasy - Central panel started in a Jane Rollason painting on silk workshop. I added the border, free drew leaves and then quilted everything. Leaves overpainted. Trapunto added.
My #1 - This is My first quilt I made, It took almost a year to complete. It is done all in Batiks of Blue, Purple, green. I made this block based on traditional blocks and put the blocks in a pattern if my choosing. This quilt is bigger than a King size quilt that measures 100"x111". This quilt is my Baby!!
So Beauty Grows - So Beauty Grows
"Since love grows within you, so beauty grows. For love is the beauty of the soul." Saint Augustine
This is my take on a type of New York Beauty. I used my foundation-less technique to piece the quilt. I teach this quilt in a class and it is very popular. As beauty grows so can this quilt. You are only limited by your imagination (and maybe your fabric!)
Urban Farmer Baby Jacket - This is a custom designed and quilted baby jacket. The different animals are embroidered. The inside "cheery tomatoes" are appliqued. The jacket is a medium size so that the baby can wear it for awhile.
QOVF 4 - Modified Grandma's Star block from Jinny Beyer website to make this quilt of valor. Has been forwarded to ICU at Landstuhl Hospital in Germany for presentation to wounded soldier
Twin One of "Twins Separated at Birth" - This summer we had an exchange student with us for 7 weeks. She wanted to make a quilt for her sister who is a bit "goth." Lucia picked the fabrics, I taught her how to cut and sew it and she did (well most of it). Meanwhile, I made this quilt for a friend's daughter graduating from high school, with the same pattern, but very different fabric. It is so fun to see the difference between Twin One and Twin Two. They both have the same quilting pattern.
