Silent Auction donation - I volunteered to make a silent auction donation item. Included is a copy of my newest quilted mystery, Murder by Music. Gourmet chocolates too!

pinwheels and chicks - This was a way to use some of my stash. I will be giving it to my son's girlfriend.

Spring Fling - I made this after purchasing one of Ricky. Timms books.I'VE used some of my own hand dyed fabrics.It was Spring and I was happy.

Bright Kaleidoscope - Made after watching Ricky's amazing lesson ,just love this technique.

Weeds in my flower patch - I hand painted and free motion quilted the circles.Embellished with paintsticks and embroidery and lot's of wool and yarns.The poppies were cut from a commercial fabric.

Letting go - I really love the paintings by the artist Erte,so this is my version of one. I hand painted the background and the rest is appliquéd.

NEFERTITI - I had great fun doing all the beading on the collar and making up the design as I went along.

Disco nights with Betty. - This was my first paper piecing attempt and I really enjoyed it.I fell in love with some Betty Boop fabric so that found it's way into the borders.

Swoosh - Swoosh was made for Ricky's All That Jazz Special Exhibit. It was inspired by looking at the interesting pattern the netting has from underneath a basketball net. It was a long shot clear across the court, but it scored a 3 pointer. I am so glad I tried to make something for the contest. It was lots of fun working with the beautiful hand dyes of Ricky's.

Evolution...Evolving - I always thought there was something not quite finished about this quilt...until visiting teacher/judge (Anna Hergert of Saskatchewan) asked why I had put my interesting sleeve of triangles on the back of the quilt. She suggested that I just flip them over the bound edge and stitch them down with the buttons like I had on the back. Ta-da...that's just what it needed...5 years later. Sometimes we have to see our work thru new eyes.

Kristen's Wall of Fame - This quilt was made from t-shirts, sweatshirts, and towels to chronicle Kristen's high school athletic involvement. Her mother commissioned it for her university graduation. The layout was a bit of a trial and error exercise...to balance the different sized graphics and combine them with spacer strips. Any books I'd seen on the subject of t-shirt quilts cut them all the same size. I wanted something more interesting...not just a quilt made of t-shirts, but a great quilt design that just happened to be made out of t-shirts.

Crazy for Red, White and Black - Inspired by a workshop with Jayne Willowby-Scott, "Take the Leap"...free cutting traditional blocks for a more contemporary look. I have had lots of fun with this approach and this block in other quilts since this one.

California Wine - I can't make someone else's pattern without adding my own spin. Fussy-cut fan blades and fussy-cut mitered centers for the alternate squares added drama, while piping the fans added a hint of sophistication. Finish w/pieced borders for my 3 favorite techniques to complicate an otherwise simple plan.

If Dogs Don't Go To Heaven - Inspired by a quote from Will Rogers, "If dogs don't go to heaven, I want to go where they go."

Irish Stars - Ohio stars blocks alternating with an Irish chain block. This will be a wedding gift for my niece.
