THE BIRDS AND THE BEES - PLANNING TRIP TO AUSTRALIA TO VISIT FRIENDS... DECIDED TO TAKE THEM A QUILT. BOUGHT A FEW MODA CHARM PACKS AND A PANEL AND USED STASH FOR CONTRAST AND BORDER! QUICK QUILT BUT ONLY DID STITCH IN THE DITCH. UTILTIY QUILT BUT AGAIN LEARNED IN THE PROCESS.
WOVEN RIBBONS (WOVEN LIVES) - MADE FOR A WEDDING GIFT FOR GRANDDAUGHTER AND BOYFRIEND. WOVEN RIBBONS SEEMED APPROPRIATE FOR TWO VERY CLOSELY WOVEN LIVES! I CHANGED THE BORDERS A LITTLE TO SUIT MY SEWING NEEDS (I can no longer do hand sewing) and embelished the borders with machine embroidery.
Very happy with the result but forgot to take a photo. The picture here shows the finished top before quilting.
From the rag and string bag - THE OBJECT WAS TO USE UP ALL THOSE LEFT OVER SCRAPS. AND I SUCCEEDED. LOVE THE FINISHED QUILT IN SPITE OF MIX OF PATTERNS!
Birds of a Feather - I made this quilt for my daughter Kimberly because she loves birds. It was pieced in 2011 and the quilting was finished in
february 2012.
Baby Pinwheel Quilt - I made this quilt for Zach and Jen Todd's new baby girl. I used brown and pink because that was their theme. Delia was born in July 2011.
Tulip Jewel - I used Patrick Lose fabrics and started this quilt after RT Super Quilt Seminar in 2007 and used Ricky Tims dyed fabric for binding 2012.
Bethany's quilt - The backing of the quilt is from a quilt made by Ellen Teegarden, Great Grandmother to Bethany. Much of the surrounding area was stained and tattered so I cut out the entir part for the backing. The fabric from this quilt could be from the 1920s or 1930s. See the next picture for the backing
Bethany's quilt - Original quilt made by Ellen Teegarden, Great Grandmother of Bethany. This quilt top was found in Muriel (Teegarden) Sawyer's things when she walked on. The edges and first row of all around the quilt were stained and tattered. This was cut off and the center of the quilt used as the backing for the quilt.
