Tropical Hex with Butterflies
Name of Maker: Karen Boelter
Tropical Hex with Butterflies - Hex based Stack-N-Whack with setting triangles. Material bought years earlier, several units pieced, set in UFO box unfinished. Inspiration (desperation) hit and I began piecing once again. Then I ran out of material for the setting triangles. Thank the stars I had a bit of the selvage with the maker information. Found the material on e-bay! Set in small 'crumb catchers' between the quilt body and the border. Began quilting it on a home machine and was having difficulties. Backing is flannel. Friend came to stay with me and attend the Houston Quilt Show. She loved it, and I promised to finish it for her. Well, bought the Sweet-16 free motion machine at the show, and finished the quilt on it in no time flat.

Don't ruffle my feathers
Name of Maker: Cathy P Blaylock
Don't ruffle my feathers - This quilt is for my great niece. The worm in the tree is made from one of my deceaased fathers shirts. It was just to keep the mood light while including something something of his into this qult. I knew Hadley's father would like that.
Gentle Breeze
Name of Maker: bonjohnsew
Gentle Breeze - I have been making quite a few flower pounding wall hangings the past several years. This is one of my latest ones. Any of the colors you see within the border are the actual dyes from the actual flowers/ leaves. I do a flower pounding technique, then a thread painting to further enhance the quilt. Check out my website www.mountainviewsdesigns.com.
Oriental
Name of Maker: bonjohnsew
Oriental - All the colors within the border come from the pigment of the actual leaves; then I do a thread painting technique to further enhance the design.
Deer Tracks
Name of Maker: bonjohnsew
Deer Tracks - This is my design depicting the many deer that we have living with us in the western North Carolina mountains. The deer are appliqued and the "snow" is white felt so it gives it a more dimensional feel. I had a lot of fun making this quilt! You can't tell that I like blue can you?
Corn Country
Name of Maker: bonjohnsew
Corn Country - This was a challenge quilt and was my first time printing photos on fabric for a quilt. The photos are of Ohio farm country, surrounded by raw edge appliqued blocks representing the fields/ furrows and then I made 3 dimensional corn on right hand side.
A Hippo Swallowed A Girl
Name of Maker: Nancy Rehak
A Hippo Swallowed A Girl - I purchased several embroideries from www.tambani.co.za. This is the first quilt I made from them. This one represents the story of "A Hippo Swallowed A Girl" and was embroidered by Emmah Vhengani. It will be a Christmas present for my niece.
