Threads of Japan
Name of Maker: Linda Schiffer
Threads of Japan - I designed this quilt as a block of the month for my shop, Seminole Sampler, in Catonsville, Md. It is one of my very most favorite quilts. This version was made by members of our staff -- the winner of the quilt was Patty Stenpeck. My own version (still unfinished) is a bit more scrappy, with beige backgrounds and mostly red and indigo prints.
Butterfly Garden
Name of Maker: staff of Seminole Sampler
Butterfly Garden - This is an original design I did as another block of the month quilt for my shop, Seminole Sampler, in Catonsville, MD. My parents and my family went on vacation on May to Calloway Gardens in Georgia. Among other beautiful things we saw there, we visited the Butterfly House and I took oodles of pictures. I developed the designs of the butterflies in this quilt very loosely based on the ones I photo'd in Ga. I love this quilt!
