Butterflies and Sashiko - I love doing both sashiko and applique. I often visit Sylvia Pippen's web site to see her new designs. This one truly caught my eye. It was one of her kits and the marbled fabrics by Marjorie Lee Bevis are so beautiful and amazing. This small wall hanging hangs in our family room.
Lady by the Sea

Lady by the Sea - This is 30" square quilted wall hanging. This is a hand painted batik is painted by Puteri Noor (on March 30, 2011). She named it "Lady by the Sea" This is machine quilted and bordered with a beautiful turquoise cotton and a string of turquoise crystals.

Happy Christmas to All - This is the sample quilt of a Jelly Roll Race class I taught at a local sewing machine store, Upland Vac & Sew. Once the race was over, Santa, the moon, stars, and the last line of T'was the Night Before Christmas" was machine appliqued. On my computer, I found the patterns for the applique from a Free Clipart site.

Katie's Quilt - My granddaughter wanted a "horizontal" quilt for her bed. I made up every row as I went along. Her bed is queen size so I finally started repeating some rows. The size and coming out even on each end was tricky. Katie loves her quilt.

Jane's Block - Paper piecing is great fun. I have taken two workshops from Carol Doak through my guild and she is just wonderful. In her book she names all the blocks after women she knows and when I saw Jane's block of course I had to make myself a quilt.

My Water Lilies - Done in a class to learn bargello. The water lilies are my design and done in raw edge fusible applique. The free motion quilting was done on my Bernina.
Naughty Puss

Naughty Puss - I made this little quilt for my guild show challenge. The challenge title was "Everything is Coming Up Roses". The challenge quilt had to include some type of rose or roses. I adapted the pattern by using Joan Shay's method of making 3-D roses. Two roses in the vase and one in the puss' mouth. It won a second place in the Rose Challenge.
