Baby Shower - Family and friends were given a square to decorate. Immediate family chose the batiks. Immediate family and GmaLou came up with design elements. The individual quilts are sewn to the background quilt so that each one is in fact a pocket for holding small items. Each component has sentimental value. The quilt was a surprise at the shower for the McKay first child. What fun. How special.

K's Quilt - This quilt is made of sample hand quilted blocks at a beginning class taught by Shirley Heim at Marti's Patchwork Cottage in Black Mountain, NC. The Tuesday night gang helped make the quilt squares turn into a finished quilt top. As the quilt came together, the colors shouted "Give the quilt to Klenna!" Roma Wimberly long arm quilted it for me.

Chinese Parasols - Needed a new quilt for our wall, so drew this and used freezer paper for the pattern. Some of the ribs of the parasols are dimensional. And it is quilted with a bamboo pattern in the border.
