Dale's Marlin - Took a week long Class with Suasn Carlson in March 2011.
Window to Africa
Name of Maker: Jen Hinwood
Window to Africa - It all started with a small batik from Mozambique and a couple of half square triangles. Totally improvisational, this quilt uses multiple techniques and embellishments. I love these batiks - the color & style.
Harvey
Name of Maker: Jen Hinwood
Harvey - Harvey is a beautiful fish created with a collage technique. Bits of fabric cut, twisted & turned till he was just right then a layer of tulle was added and he was placed on the background. Thread sketching added more detail as well as the quilting. These are so fun to do.

Name of Maker: Mary M Moody-Cox
Water Lilies and Koi - CLOSEUP - Close-up of the Waterlily
Workshop Medley
Name of Maker: Vicki Swensen
Workshop Medley - The directions for this quilt were sent to me by Ronda Beyer for a curved crosshatch workshop I took at MQS, Overland Park, KS in 2009 that she taught with Judy Allen. The star block was one left over from another quilt (Starlight Garden), so I started with that and then put together the rest of it. Judy and Ronda asked that we bring the top finished to class so we could quilt it. I've put curved crosshatching in many a quilt since then. It is so lovely.

Centennial Quilt - Signature quilt made in honor of the 100th anniversary of the church of the Holy Comforter in Burlington, NC. Original design inspiration was a picture of an antique quilt posted on the internet.

Bringer of Light
Name of Maker: Eileen Kuhre
Bringer of Light - When my nephew and his wife were expecting their third son, I talked with the oldest of the boys, whose baby quilt I had made. I asked for his help in deciding what design to use on the new baby's quilt. He told me that his new brother's first name would mean strong and his middle name would mean Bringer of Light. "I think his quilt needs to show some light". I thought the pattern I found as I perused my old magazines was just right.

Quilt In Honor of Agnete & Bill's Marriage
Name of Maker: Carolyn Lee Zalon
Quilt In Honor of Agnete & Bill's Marriage - Definitely a learning experience making this quilt. I used the excellent laser pre-cut pieces by John Flynn and watched and rewartch Fons & Porter 2 Part Videa on how to construct a Double Wedding Ring Quilt. I also made the same quilt for my son and daughter-in-law in honor of their marriage.
