Tree of Life
Name of Maker: Tina & Miranda Beshears
Tree of Life - My daughter and I made this quilt for an amazing teacher who made a huge impact in both of our lives. She was my camp counselor in high school and completely changed my life. Later my daughter had her for high school English but more importantly as a mentor. Ms. Whitaker spent time guiding us through the scholarship process and coaching Miranda to prepare her for scholarship interviews. With her help Miranda earned a Goodnight scholarship to NC State University which covers all tuition and fees. We made this quilt for her because I have always felt that she changed this branch of our family tree. For the impact she made in our lives this was the least we could do to thank her.

Heart and Home
Name of Maker: Gasweetie
Heart and Home - I fell in love with pattern on sight and made it as fast as I could. It was a challange to me to do applique, even as little as is in the quilt. The quilt came our wonderful and my little short-longarm was able to quilt it easily since all the rows break up the design a lot. I used only fabrics from my stash and tried to use as many fabrics as possible in the top. The yellow background fabric has been in my stash for almost a decade waiting for the perfect project.
