Greek Fossils - This a whole cloth quilt stitched in two colours on hand dyed cotton sateen from Heide Stoll-Webber. It had 4 cones of thread in it, and two layers of wool wadding.
Hopi Basket - Strip piecing, cutting with a wedge ruler created the inner circle. Large Circle and inner circle hand appliqued to pieced background. Outer circles were made with my circle maker, and quilted on my Bernina 820.
Milford Valley Baltimore Beauty Raffle - Group member raffle quilt completed for our 2011 show. We used various blocks from Ellie Sienkiewicz's books. We sold 6,000 tickets and the show was this weekend.
A Whole Lot of Stars - I am delighted to have finished this gorgeous BOM from thequiltshow.com. My thanks to Sue G for an absolutely beautiful pattern. A special thanks to my friend, Mary Rossi, who quilted it for me.
Ikebana It Ain't Either - Ikebana is the art of arrangement of two or three items - simple - graceful. My thoughts during the process of making this quilt were that since all the fabrics were Japanese, it would be graceful and simple. Well as you can see it is just as busy and fussy as can be. Ikebana it Aint!
Ikebana It Ain't Either - The Back - This is the back of the Ikebana It Ain't Either quilt. I do like piecing backs rather than having just one fabric on the back. Some is good, more is better, right? Ricky does say that the back should have something to do with the front and I do believe that the back of Ikebana It Ain't Either lives up to his standard.
Cuppa Java Joe - It's just on the design wall now (ignore the green print at the top). I think I'll change the inner red strip to white piping, or maybe do both.
Run For Your Life - My friend achieved her goal of running a marathon in all 50 states. This quilt is made from the t-shirts she accumulated on her quest. It's a celebration of her life.
Conversations of the Heart - I started a project by making 12 heart blocks, then abandoned it. I challenged myself to create a design using the 12 blocks without simply lining them up in rows.
Fair Winds and Following Seas - This was made for a coast guard cadet that Kim and her family sponsored. Glitter Metallic was used on the stars, the three blocks in the bottom center represent Jay's name, and the sail boats have the dates that he entered the academy and graduated. The Mariners compass is surrounded by the stars to guide him through his career in the Coast Guard.
