Name of Maker: Barbara Barrett
Row by Row - Started in a class in 2004 never finished. I am adding on one more border and I will be putting the three layers together, I swear I am going to finish this quilt!! It was a mess, since it was my first big quilt, it started as a queen, it is now a king! I am trying to get all my UFO’s done now that I have retired! Making progress. . .new updated photo..
Grandma’s heart!
Name of Maker: Barbara Barrett
Grandma’s heart! - Used scrap material and drew a heart on freezer paper. Each heart was hand applique on a square and then the freezer paper removed from the back after the material was cut out. The material, that was cut out of the back of the heart was used to make a smaller heart quilt for a matching doll quilt using same technique. Each Granddaughter’s quilt was done a little differently, different borders, different sashes, etc. so they would be able to tell them apart. The third one I made I had an idea to put a pocket on the back so my Granddaughter could put her little hand in it . They use these quilts for everything! They are still in amazing condition. They sleep with them every night. They take them in the car in the winter for trips. They use them to make tents in the house, they put them on the floor to sit on for family meetings. They use them for naps every day! I tell them they have “ Grandmother’s Hearts with them wherever they go & whenever they sleep, Grandma’s heart is always with them! This is the last one I made. I am in the process of making the fourth one for my daughter’s fourth baby born last July.

Log Cabin - Started quilt & finally completed quilting it! Quilt top went very fast! Used almost all Thimbleberry fabrics. Pins were in quilts for almost seven years. Only a few holes visible if you look closely but considering how long the pins were in the quilt I am lucky. I am very happy with this quilt!
