LJ - I watch the Serendipity Quilt show by Susan Carlson and thought it would be fun to try.
I found a clip art design and enlarged it and started gluing on fabric.
I named my turtle L.J.
Unknown - A string quilt made out of several different kinds of fabrics that ment something to her. The outside border and some of the strings are made out of silk.
Mia's Secret Garden - I designed Mia's Secret Garden for our first granddaughter, Mia Noel. My daughter and I love Beatrix Potter's beautiful characters and thought they would be the perfect choice for her nursery quilt. I added some flowers and butterfly applique to complete her secret garden.
Open Sesame! - 60X70 inches. Machine applique, machine quilted. 10 of the 12 block patterns from the book "Quilting With the Muppets" by the Jim Henson Company/ Two patterns adapted from coloring pages.
Green Flower Fairies - Made for my Grandaughter who loves fairies. Free motion quilted on my home sewing machine. Her room is decorated with cut-out fairies from the fabric and applied to large dots of color on the walls.
Where Were the Angels? - This quilt was inspired by a news article about a 13 year old girl who was raped and then stoned to death for adultery in Somalia.
