Owls for Graycie
Name of Maker: Grayciesgrammy
Owls for Graycie - I needed something "funky" and chose a pattern by Camille Roskelley. I used that as a base and developed my own twist. Thanks to Dale Fleming, all of those circles were a breeze. The owls have chenille bodies.
Lexa's Angel
Name of Maker: Susan Cook
Lexa's Angel - I designed this block a few years ago but never sewed it out until last week. I was looking for a way to help my friend Nicole Cleland, and her family, cope with a recent tragedy. She was hit by a drunk driver December 6th and her 7 yr old daughter Lexa was killed. I have been offering this pattern as a thank to people who donate to The Cleland Family Fund. Contact me for more info.

Rescued
Name of Maker: Susan Rhudy
Rescued - Three small pictures were alterred by removing collars, bows and blue shiny or red eyes. The pictures of the rescued dogs were printed on white cotton fabric. Three layers of trapunto were used for the nose, muzzle and then the remaining quilts. Thread painting was used to accentuate the fur. A background of printed poems (public domain) in black with white script describing dogs was ironed on Peltex. A padded frame on Peltex was placed over the backing. The small pictures can be lifted to read the poems. On the back of the framed quilt is information about nine dogs that luckily found their way to the these special people. The three dogs shown are: the top one, Jackie, was adoped from a shelter, the middle dog, Ruthie, was given away after one night home and the bottom one, Josie, was found abandoned in some weeds. God smiles on those who care for animals.
