Freedom - This quilt looks hard to make but it is very easy. Most of the blocks are 1/2 square trangles.

East Wind Yoga - Logo - After attending the Ricky Tims seminar, I huge fire was re-lit under my procrastinating butt and I finally finished this wall hanging.

Newest Little Fish in the Sea - Quilt made to celebrate a new baby. Each coworker made a raw edge, fused fish or sea creature, which were then applied to the reef background, stitched around and background quilted.

Its not all black and white - The quilt top (quilting in the works) is the result of a class with Jane Hall on foundation piecing. Two of us made the same diverse set of traditional blocks, using the same black and white and jewel tone accent fabrics. Foundation pieced blocks with then arranged on point with blank filler blocks and a foundation pieced border to complete the top.

Molly's Burnished Chintz - When the delightful Premier Issue of "The Quilt Life" came out, I was totally taken by the picture and pattern of Burnished Chintz quilt! I immediately ordered the kit. It was fun to put together and the fabrics sung to me with their bright colors as I pieced the snowball blocks.

Advent Calendar - I found this lovely panel with little ornaments to hang each day of December to create a nativity scene and assembled it for my grandson and I to play with . He likes to take the animals down and have them talk to each other. We tell the Christmas story and hang each character. I hand sewed a small pocket with flap on the back to keep all the characters when not in use.

friends are forever - A friend had a massive stroke at a young age. She was a member of our Sweet adelines group and I made this quilt to show our love and hope. Everyone signed it and wrote a message of encouragement. She has since gone through Rehab and has returned to singing. We all are thrilled at her recovery.

Fractured Flower - Fractured flower Ever since I saw the show by Beth Wheeler on Altered Photo Artistry, I have wanted to combine my two loves of quilting and flower Photography. Your classes gave me the encouragement to try just a small quilt utilizing the altered photo, thread painting and free motion quilting. It is a small quilt (14 in. x 15 in.) and I did have a lot of fun making it. I practiced and practiced and here it is!

spring flowers - Made at a workshop in the 90's and finally finished it in '09. Gave to son and Daughter-in-law for their yellow living room.

Puple Broken Star - Took a class with Karen Combs and instead of using all scraps, I used the purple that I love.

Piecing through the Decades - My life (so far) chronicled through a Quilt started in 1987. Finished 2010.

Matteo's Snakes - When Matteo saw the Frog quilt I made, he asked, can you make me a snake quilt? This took some thinking...Matteo raises huge snakes, so I decided to adapt royalty-free photos from the internet of real snakes into applique blocks. I used batiks and natural-looking colors.The quilt took about six months to make and was beautifully quilted by Debbie Allen in Utah. The backing is a wonderful snake-print too!

Away from the Cauldron - The original design was modified and I added couched ribbons, beads, and bobbin stitching to the pumpkin faces (my first attempt at this technique). The background is machine quilted with a pumpkin patch design.

Orange Blossom Special - This is my 2010 entry into the National Quilt Museum's "New Quilts from an Old Favorite" contest. The theme is the orange peel block. Great fun to work on and a real challenge to quilt.

Redwork Silk Hearts - I adapted Alex's redwork hearts pattern using solid red and white silk bought in China along with Alex's red and whilte cottons. A challenge in using silk and scalloping a border

Alpine Tranquility - This was a challenge at the local quilt shop called Winter Blues. The packet contained 4 fabrics and I added a 5th (the batik water fabric). The drawing came easy. The design was reworked several times before I was satisfied. I won 2nd place in the Innovative category.
