The Village - Won the center blocks in a guild BOM. Started the center design in a Sharyn Craig workshop. Read "Baking Cakes in Kigali" for our quilting book club. Then the quilt kept speaking to me. My favorite part of the quilt is the house border.

Twelfth Frame - Designed to be a beginning machine applique sample quilt, it turned out to be a little too complicated. It did hang in the store for a few years, now it lives at home as a table runner.

Rose of Many Colors - Thank you to Margo and others for help with this one. When I was ready to sandwich it would not lay straight for anything. I even took it partly apart and resewed it. I was suggested that quilting the blank areas might help stabilize it. It did to a degree, now the applique blocks dent to bulge a little but it looks ok on a mattress - not as a wall quilt.

abigails jungle - tracey wanted to decorate Abigails room in jungle animals, and I was playing aournd with circles...came up with this quilt over the summer of 2008. Imagine my surprise when I started seeing circle quilts all over the magazines the following year....oh well. go figure.

Theresa's signature quilt - 8" blocks were given to coworkers to embellish however they desired. The quilt was made as a gift for a coworker who had broken her back and was our way of wrapping her in our love, prayers, good wishes and hugs as she recovered. People drew pictures, beaded, xstitched, embroidered, painted, appliqued, whatever they desired. I made the 9 patch squares, and put the quilt together once all the blocks were back to me.

Mer Folk Fantasy - Hoffman 2010 Challenge, inspired by a Dover coloring book picture by Elaine Rudisill Miller of a mermaid sitting on a shell. Juried into Hoffman 2010 challenge, Travel trunk D. Semi-finalist in AQS Lancaster, PA 2012 show to be shown in March 2012.

Lori's Silk Purse - Lori's Silk Purse started from a round robin gone horribly bad. Lori's round robin mates didn't quite have a handle on what a round robin is about. I salvaged what I could from it and created this from its ashes.
Saphires, Emeralds and Amethysts

Saphires, Emeralds and Amethysts - A simple block consisting of squares and rectangles - 4 of these units are joined by narrow sashing to create a larger block. The larger blocks are then put together with a wider sashing. This quilt will soon be published under the company name of Raspberry Bramble Designs.

Christmas Cactus - By adding some "buds" in a larger border to Laura's design, I created a quilt that made me think of Christmas Cactus blooms.

Bird of Paradise - The Bird of Paradise block is alternated with block created to form a square between blocks. Paper pieced Palm Leaf blocks make up the 4 corners.
Peppermint Logs

Peppermint Logs - Log Cabin blocks contain red and white pinwheel centers. Four of these are put together with sashing in between and another pin wheel in the center, set on point and bordered with a border print that is mitered in the corners.

April Showers Bring May Flowers - Four tulips blocks in various colors for the center of this wall hanging. This is set on point and 4 umbrellas are embroidered into the four corners of the quilt center.

Simple Things in Life - I saw this quilt in a magazine many years ago. Eight years ago I went to Huston and took a class from Mary Sorenson. I went to her booth and purchased a pattern which I was drawn to. It was tucked away in my forgotten box until last August (2009) when I found it and became obsessed with it. Started in 2009 and finished the quilt top in May (2010). It is currently waiting for professional quilting (April). Note: while I was cleaning my sewing room, I found the pic from the magazine and realized that this quilt was meant to be.

Blue hibiscus - My daughter and her fiancee brought this pattern and the dark batik from Hawaii last April for me.Well I did 2 quilts and because did run out of fabric,choose a fused binding .See my photos for pictures of the back.
