"Fragments of Fire" - The Windsor Ruins of Port Gibson, MS, built in 1859-61. It is said that Mark Twain used to stand from a roof observatory and muse while overlooking the Mississippi River in the distance. Windsor Plantation burned during a house party on February 17, 1890, As I have sat among the ruins and dreamed, I hear the "stories" of it's past -- as the trees and columns have whispered secrets upon the wind. dcl/2009

Eagle in Blue
Name of Maker: Marge Campbell
Eagle in Blue - This quilt is 48" square, done in 100% cotton fabrics from my stash. Thread used to quilt: Threadart's silver metallic on the top, Superior's So-Fine in the bobbin. Batting is 80/20 cotton poly. This is for a wall hanging. I am in process of increasing the size to fit a king size bed & will do that pattern in Autum colors. Pattern is a bit challenging, not for those new to quilting/sewing. I love the result of this pattern, though my color choices were haphazzard..this is a test for the larger quilt. Still I love the results!

Jesien (Autumn) Leaves
Name of Maker: Stephanie Pollard
Jesien (Autumn) Leaves - This quilt was a lesson in patience. There was the long search for the fabrics giving me the colour tones needed, quilting in-between family life commitments and deciding to hand quilt this king-sized quilt top stretched fully across a traditional wooden frame made by a friend. Patience always has its rewards and it now hangs on a very large wall in our shome.
