Paris Underground - This is an art quilt based on the Paris Underground tunnels. It was paper pieced, has monofilament and metallic thread. It is slightly raised down the centre to give the impression of the underground tunnels. It is based on a pattern from a book on European quilts I purchased.

Matt's Quilt - I had seen a quilt that TQS member Margo had made with this pattern and fell in love with it. I wanted to make a quilt for my nephew for his 21st birthday and thought of doing this one. It's all batiks and he loves it.

The Journey

The Journey - I was inspired to make this quilt after reading the novel, "The Tenth Gift." In January of 2010, I took a two fabric applique class from Nancy Chong and this is one of her patterns. It is hand appliqued, machine quilted using silk thread on wool batting. Two of the large leaves I used the trapunto technique. Using the background fabric in this manner was my own design element.

hunters delight - This quilt was hand and machine appliqued, machine and hand quilted on a domestic machine, applique was double stuffed and then stitiched, quilted with cotton batting, commercial fabric used. This quilt is made for my dentist(also my former employer) who is doing some pro bono work for me... a little thank you...

Island Sunset

Island Sunset - I made this little wall hanging at the New Zealand Quilt Symposium in 2009. It was made in a class taught by Gloria Loughman. This pattern was her design for the class to make. Part of the class was painting the sky fabric with fabric paints. Gloria is a wonderful teacher that I recommend to everyone. I have posted this wall hanging as I have just watched Gloria on Episode 612, and wanted to share it with you all.

7 sisters - I hand pieced this quilt during our winter trip to Florida. I machine quilted it on a regular basic Phaff machine. I was inspired to make this quilt because my mother comes from a family of 10 children and there are 7 sisters!!! I have wanted to make it for several years, and finally decided this past winter to do it.

Cube Illusions - This quilt is the result of a class taken on line with Karen Combs at Quilt University.com I chose to piece the cubes in the quilt, instead of the applique method that was shown. Then decided to hang it upside down to get a different effect.
Ugly Lovers Condo

Ugly Lovers Condo - This quilt was part of a challenge to use "ugly fabrics" with the quilters on the old Prodigy Quilting Board. 19 Quilters swapped 1/8 yd of fabric, so we all started with the same fabric. A piece of each person's fabric had to be used in the quilt.I used Quilt Pro to design my quilt. This quilt along with 14 other quilts traveled around the US for about a year. It also appeared in the American Quilter Magazine in summer 1997, Vol XIII. No 2 in an article about house quilts. It was paper pieced.
