Mia Louise - Made this quilt for my daughter's preschool teacher as a gift for her new baby. The baby was named MIA LOUISE and the colours were perfect for her room!
Natalia - Second quilt I made, on same weekend I made my 1st. For a baby called Natalia. Wanted to make a Sunbonet Sue so drew pattern from my own imagination.
Carmen - Made for a friend who had lost her husband. She chose colours, which was a challenge. I could not have done it without my supportive mum in law. Thanks mum!
Asilomar Quilt - 14 blocks with scenes from in and around the Asilomar Conference Grounds in Pacific Grove, CA in honor of the Empty Spools Seminars sponsored by Diana McLunn, Gayle Wells and Susanne Cox.
Radiance Jacket - The jacket is on a sweatshirt or muslin base. The pattern is based on a bargello radiating out from the center (light to dark) and the back is the oposite (dark to light).
My First Quilt - I used Red, White and Blue color theme and made 9 of the quilt blocks of the Underground Railroad pattern in the book. I learned the basics of quilting in a class that used this book. It got me totally hooked on quilting.
Child's Primary Quilt - The built is made in primary colors of the rainbow. There are 8 blocks consisting of Sunbonnet Sue, a multilayered heart, a dog, a cat, a boat, butterfly, bear, and suspender Sam. The back is white chennile type fabric. It was machine appliqued. The patterns I found in various pattern books which I embellished on.
Do cats read - This quilt was made for my cousin, as a gift from my aunt to her
She loves cats and reading so when I found the material, attic windows
was just the pattern for the project. This is my 5th quilt but my 1st attic window and I loved doing this. Jean
Navajo Twilight - This was my second quilt. I made it for a Mary Ellen Hopkins Online Contest. It had to contain Mary Ellen's flying geese, so it's kind of a three-dimensional quilt.
30s squares - reproduction 1930's prints used. Quit is scrappy 4patches with diagonal rows of solid yellow. I could say this is original, as I just added the diagonal rows where I thought they would work- However, I am sure this has been done before!
Big Star, Big Heart - Created in response to guild challenge with topic of American Women of Distinction. I chose Dolly Parton because of her big heart, considerable talent and bubbly personality. She has continuously given back to her community and is generous to a fault with her talent.
Grandaughter's Dream - My 1st Grandaughter to be born March 22,2007. I wanted her to have something special from me to always remember when I'm gone.This is my 2nd baby quilt ever done and I hope she enjoys it as she grows
Tree of Life - Most difficult piece done to date. And my favorite. Looked for a long time for a Frank Lloyd Wright styled pattern. Followed all instructions as printed with the exception of some small changes to recommended quilting pattern. Also used more tradition color palate than illustrated.
