Then my daughter wanted a king size and gave me clothing from her husband and children and some material from quilts she made. This quilt is a tresure of memories
First Quilt over a wedding gift quilt
Name of Maker: dollaremylife
First Quilt over a wedding gift quilt - Ithe quilt was hand made by memere but she used material that soon began to fall apart - so I made a quilt and used the original quilt as batting. My quilt was simple just squares and a simple pattern. I always quilt both sides.
Vicky carry quilt
Name of Maker: dollaremylife
Vicky carry quilt - I decided that a small child needed to have a quilt to drag around. I have made a large quilt and had left over pieces. I put a handle on the top so she could slip her fingers into it.
tangled tulips
Name of Maker: Jordan Elise Durbin
tangled tulips - I had been wanting to try appliquéing for some time, and decided this was it! I love the look of appliqué over top of piecing and knew I wanted to try to incorporate both elements. I loved the handwork and the fact that I could truly sit down while doing the appliqué part. I had seen pictures of an antique quilt with little stripe-y tulips that were pieced, but decided instead to appliqué the stripes over top of the base on this quilt.
Diamond Star
Name of Maker: Erin Underwood
Diamond Star - I saw a black and white photo of a Lone Star quilt and because the colors were all grays, it looks like strip piecing. I was inspired and developed this diamond shaped log cabin block. Now I realize that I have re-invented the wheel and this is not a new concept but it is lovely, just the same. And so so sooo easy!

I Dig Dinos
Name of Maker: Debra Johnston
I Dig Dinos - I made this quilt for a co-worker's 3 year old nephew. I thougt the colors and the pinwheels would be just right for him. I only had two days to complete the project and given more time I would have done a few things different, but overall I think it came out just right.

Heide's Curves - Started in a class on Curved Log Cabin with Janice Gunner. All the fabrics except the black are from Heide Stoll-Weber.
Love Quilt
Name of Maker: Ruth
Love Quilt - Made for the TQS Big Love challenge. Except for the fabric used in the boarder, all the fabric was hand dyed bleached calico. It's the first piece that I have made that is designed to be hung on the wall. There was very little planning involved I just made it up as I went along and am pretty happy with the end result. It was a nice change from having to worry about points and seam allowances. The young lady in the photo is my oldest when she was about 13 ( 15 going on 21now).
