Tesselating Batiks

Thinking of You - I love this quilt. I've made three - one for my sister, one for my friend and one for me.

Christmas Penguins - I bought the penguin panel somewhere. Later I cut it apart, added some Christmas fabric, red, green and blue and put it together. I backed it with flannel. My grandson really likes to snuggle under it in the family room.

Falling Leaves - I absolutely loved this quilt when I saw it in the magazine. It was designed by Erin Wilcoxon.

Fall for Autumn - I love this quilt. I really like leaves! Anyway, Mary Williams designed this quilt. I was great fun to put together.

My Sampler - This quilt was made in a class taught by K. Nichols and S. Brooks in Campbell River. It was fun to do and I learned lots.

Memories - This was a sampler that was a step up from my other sampler. I am a kayaker so I appliqued the kayak off a photo of me, I love and have plumeria blooming in Campbell River so I appliqued the flower and the stone with the herringbone feather represents Featherstone. It's just a lot of who I am and I like the quilt. It's on my couch when the penguins aren't.

Mina - My first pictorial quilt made in Marilyn Belford's class at Quilt University.

Andreas and Viktor - A portrait quilt of two of my grandsons.

Swan Lake - I love dance and this is the first in a series about dance and dancers.

Tango

Peter, The Game of Love and Chance - Following Beth Wheeler's books, I made my son an art quilt with his picture as Harlequin, from The Game of Love and Chance. The quote came from a t-shirt he wears.

Peepaw's Quilt - My mother-in-law gave my husband her father's Marine Corps pins and buttons. I made a quilt with pictures and then sewed all the pins/buttons on.

Christopher drumming - My son Christopher played drums in a Brazilain drum group as an undergard at UCLA. I made this art quilt for him for Christmas, using Beth Wheeler's technique.

Fall Colors - I took a mystery class at my LQS and decided to make a fall quilt.

Double Wedding Ring - I didn't have enough fabric (the recipient of the quilt selected Eleanor Burns' Yours Truly fabrics from Benartex which is no longer available) to complete all of the required arcs for this size so I used the background material in a 12 inch border in which Amie beautifully quilted feathers and piano keys.

Fall - Fall theme, the dimensional flying geese were made with one seam. Thank you Ricky Timms. This is a Two for One Quilt, Christmas theme is on the other side.

Apostrophe Pops! - Black and tan flowers with turquoise accents. Flowers have apostrophe petals. Turned-edge machine applique.
