Starry Stack and Whack - The fabric in this quilt was a large print of Egyptian dancers and pharoahs and every cut produced magnificent kaleidoscopic patterns.

Toy Stack and Whack - Now hooked on stack and whack technique I found this fabric with large images of toy animals which included giraffes, elephants, lions and hippos. Couldn't resist cutting into it and again found all these wonderful kaleidoscopic designs.

Patience - Made this child's quilt using scraps from other quilts

Indecison - This was a 2" strip challenge from our local quilt shop "Quilted Strait" to use up our 2" strips and make a batik quilt. The theory being to use analogous colors and complimentary colors here and there. Since my analogous colors were over quite a range, I couldn't decide which complimentary color to use, so I did all three.

Fiona's Quilt - I made this quilt for my grand niece, Fiona. When the kit arrived in the mail I knew it was perfect for her.

Harmony - My daughter loves polka dots and modern fabrics. I thought to combine the two to make her a quilt.

Blue and Yellow Logs - This quilt was done as a mystery block of the month, run by the author, Susan from her quilt store. After eleven months, the setting choices were revealed. Since I was working from a considerable stash of blues and yellows, my setting choice seemed obvious. Susan published the book with That Patchwork Place and all the different settings and finished quilts were shown. Susan kept these secret from her employees (I was one of the employees) so that we would create our individual quilts without knowing the outcome.

Carnations on the Lanai - After making the center from the original pattern, I decided enlarge the quilt and designed the border to resemble the lanai railings in the Hawaiian Village Resort on Kona, Hi.

Jewel of the Prairie - When I saw the cover of this magazine I knew I had found a way to use my Batik stash. This quilt was perfect for all the colors I had in fat quarters! It took 5 full days to cut out and organize the pieces (thousands) and months to sew and place the finished blocks so that they made a secondary pattern. Although I've been quilting for a while, I sent this one out to be quilted by a prize winning quilter.

Emily's Quilt - Emily and Mario love contemporary bright design and I thought this wall hanging might be just right for their new home.

Suzanne's Quilt - Our friends lent us their condo while I was in a trauma center in Seattle. I wanted to make them something, when I was recuperating. This was a kit from Connecting Threads in their Hearth and Home collection. My friend Suzanne loves earthy tones and mathematics...I thought this was just down her alley.

Sunlit Summer Basket - Inspiration for this design came from my Sunflower patch last summer. I saw a beautiful butterfly hardly noticable from a distance. Pattern is Press & Peel fusible applique with a traditional pieced border.

Reese's Hearts - I was asked to make a quilt from Robyn Pandolph's fabric "Bed of Roses" using all the "stack," as a sample for the quilt shop, Sue's Rags. This pattern was romantic and I was hoping for a granddaughter to be born. (The baby turned out to be a lovely boy) so I chose this pattern, which showed off the line of fabrics. The owner of the shop wanted a wall hanging rather than a quilt, so here it is. Eventually, my daughter had a little girl to whom this quilt is dedicated.

Shazam - This is a reverse applique technique that Linda designed. I was going to teach a class in this, but things changed and I didn't end up teaching it. Maybe in the future. I made it for my son, who is an artist.

My 1st Landscape - Our guild held a class in making miniature landscape quilts, where we each designed our own landscape and hand appliqued them. I then hand quilted mine.

Convergence Of Love - I saw the free demo video here on The Quilt Show site the day that I joined, and Ricky was demonstrating how to make a convergence quilt. I was amazed and inspired, so I decided to try one by making this quilt for my husband for a Christmas gift.

The Journey - I made this quilt with hand piecing, hand applique, and hand quilting to commemorate the journey that my husband and I took through a long, serious illness like we'd never experienced before.

Penny Wool - My first wool Primitive quilt, which always reminds me of the lovely road trip we took to Lancaster, PA and the Amish communities in both Kidron, Ohio and Intercourse, PA....where I purchased the pattern and kit.
