My daughter, my friend - I made this lap throw for my daughter who moved to NJ in August 2008. Just wanted her to know how much I love and miss her. This quilt helped me feel confident about accurately piecing sawtooth stars, and machine applique. Used mostly my evergrowing stash! My first hand quilted piece!
Delectable Mountains Star - My first fairly intricate piecing attempt. I learned a lot and gained a lot of confidence by the time this was finished. This quilt is on our bed again this year, now that the weather is cooler. I look at it every night and still feel good about this very early quilt, but I also know what I would do differently if I were to make it again. I guess that is what it is all about....growing and learning!!

Inspired by Alex - I have always loved the quilt that was often displayed on the set of Simply Quilts. I finally decided to make one for myself. I added borders. It is now one of my very favorite quilts.
Hot Day In July - This piece was created as a tribute to the ladies of QBL (Quilting By the Lake) who gather each summer in Syracuse NY for 2 weeks to explore, challenge & further their knowledge of the quilt form by taking classes from International teachers.
Most of the photos were manipulated, & coloured using Photo Shop & then printed onto fabric sheets. Many of the photos were then enhanced with glitter to give them a campy feeling. Timetex was used to form the curl in the filmstrips. The hand dyed background is a beautiful piece of fabric by Judy Robertson.
Peacock Squawk - The 8" square blocks were turned ROUND as a surprise for the Moda University students at Tomorrow's Quilts in Waco, Texas. The quilt took some surprising turns and ended up squawking!
Stars Over Agrabah - This traditional quilt received its middle eastern flair from the original applique border. All hand pieced and hand quilted, embellished with many crystals, this quilt is a joy to own.
Friend - This quilt was made for a dear friend who brought out the best in me! Mary is a dear friend who I used to work with. She loves Asian decor and bright colors. This is the first quilt of this size that I machine quilted myself. I very much enjoyed the process!
Trial and Error - I purchased all the fabric to make Betty Cotton's Charleston and Log Cabin Shuffle but thought I would try the technique on Bossa Nova first. Great plan I learned a lot on this little quilt, happy that I made the mistakes on this little one not on the bigger quilts.
Family History Quilt - Blue blocks have a circle of feathers and the ivory blocks have a dove of peace quilted. Names of all family members were machine embroidered on the blocks.
Be Inspired, No. 1 - One of six large panels to be made for the local Middle School depicting people and places (made by people) from across time and around the world. This first panel includes ML King Jr, Jackie Robinson, Sacajawea, teachers, J.L. Chamberlain, and Obama.
