Ygnacio Wood Swim Club Celebrates 40th Anniversary - I modified the pattern so that I would have 12 blocks to form squares and didn't use the bottom 4 of the pattern. I placed the appliqued seahorses in those squares. I traced the patterns for the seahorses from old t-shirts belonging to the team and the center applique was an original design by Darrin Reading. It turned out fabulous and was sold as a fundraiser for our swim team.

Retirement Quilt - I needed a retirement gift for my son's 1st Grade teacher so I simplified the "Kid Print" pattern to use simple squares. I used only one school bus and fused the letters on the quilt. I traced the children's hands and appliqued them by machine and had each one signed by the child. I loved the old fashion school print I found for the backing.
Garden Party Ladies - My daughter sits proudly on our quilt when it was at a show in Sydney, Nova Scotia during a visit "home". I took a fun class with Freddy Moran but I wanted to make the pattern my own and the bold colors in Freddy's quilts didn't suit my decor so I decided to sew my ladies in soft tones and prints. I think it turned out adorable and hangs proudly in my home. Kathy Sandbach did an amazing job of machine quilting and even free motioned purses and veggies in their hands.
Quilt for My Parents - I'm originally from Sydney, Nova Scotia and this was a Christmas gift for my parents. They used it every day and I was comforted by the fact that they were under something that I had made especially for them. I love the colors!! Those are my beautiful children peering over the top of the quilt while it was on show in a little church in Mira, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia (we were on vacation there).
Oceans for Frank - Made for my middle school science teacher, my mentor and friend, after his retirement. He is a marine biologist, and avid environmentalist starting back in the 1970's, when it wasn't so "popular" a concern.
Congratulations and Best Wishes - A heavily embellished and personalized quilt for my niece and her husband. I struggled with this one, but I learned a lot about how to improve a work in process and incorporate "happy accidents".

Cosmic Jewels - This is the king size version of my new "No Diamonds / No Y Seams" pattern Cosmic Jewels. It is done entirely with batiks from Timeless Treasures. It was a hit at Quilt Market fall 2009.
Black Tie - This is a table runner called Black Tie from my new pattern called Fine Dining. It is made with taffeta silk and ribbons foe embellishment.
Cosmic Jewels Queen - This is the queen size version of my new "No Diamonds/ No 'Y' Seams" pattern called Cosmic Jewels. The fabrics are from the line Bermuda Blues by Timeless Treasures. Fun quilt and very easy to make.
