Cowboy Gus - This quilt was created for the St. Jude Quilt of Dreams contest in 2005. It won 1st place in the district. The rope is braided embroidery floss. The jeans have real pockets.
Flowers Around UNB - I enlarged this variation of a New York Beauty block pattern by adding borders. I also changed the set so that the viewer's eye travels around and around the quilt taking in all of the curves and colours. This quilt is not your typical New York Beauty quilt.
Foot of the Giant - Another redwood from Prairie Creek park. This picture intrigued me because of the large root areas showing above the dirt. Gary took the photo. I showed the quilt way back when in the what are you working on area....but I don't think I ever showed it finished.
It was a happy winner at the Humboldt County Fair in the Fine Arts division. It brought home 3 ribbons so it's a happy little quilt right now.
Birdus marinellus, a new species - This was a challenge from the New Mexico Quilter's Guild. It had to be 20 inches square and use 3 fabrics, a large floral (used for tail feathers), a pink (the wing) and a striped batik (the legs).
Sophies quilt - This is for my friends baby Sophie who will be two. I added the green border and prairie points to a bit more color and bring out the color in the little animals in the print.
A Trip to Ireland - This quilt plus an actual trip to Ireland were gifts to my daughter for earning her Master's degree. P.S. I entered it in the New Mexico State Fair and am thrilled to say that I won a Third Place Ribbon. It was the first time I've entered in the fair.
Ryan's quilt - This was my first quilt for my second grandson Ryan. I machine quilted stitch in the ditch, used Children of the Inner Light fabric panel by Andover Fabrics.
