Beatriz's Garden - This quilt was designed after I purchased a package of 5 fabrics at the Chicago Quilt Festival. I decided to cut 21/2 in. squares and then created the zigzag pattern around a center panel from one of the fabrics. The top and bottom and stripes from the same fabric as the center. This was made for my new granddaughter born in May.

Union Jack of Friendship - This was made as a gift for our friends in UK. We recently visited and celbrated the 4th of July with them. I used red white & blue fabrics from my stash to create the Union Jack the flag of the United Kingdom.

Folk Art Quilt - The setting of this quilt is an adaptation of a quilt that was seen in a quilting magazine some years ago. The applique block was changed from the original quilt shown in the article.

French Braid Quilt

Circles 1 - Whole cloth quilt. The designs in the large circles were painted with Shiva Paintstiks. YLI Candlelight metallic yarn, YLI Designer 6 and rayon threads were used for the quilting.

Simply Autumn - Leaves and trees were all painted with Shiva Paintstiks. The trees were then stitched over with black thread. Fairy Frost fabrics used for the checkerboards and the border.

Cross Currents - This quilt was made from one large print fabric using the technique found in the book "One Block Wonders" by Maxine Rosenthal.

All About Noah - I used a Paper Foundation Instruction Book for Noah's Ark and all the animals. I did not do paper piecing. Instead, I used the book for patterns and cut all of the pieces fabric, then used fusible web to create the little 4 1/2" blocks. I then used my sewing machine's tight zig-zag stitch to go around all the pieces and give it somewhat of a stained glass look. I placed my animals in every other blocks. Noah's Ark is a large block in the center and it actually pieced together by machine. All of the plain blocks have some sort of machine embroidery. The quilt is a gift for a little boy (distant relative) in Croatia. The animals all have their names embroidered in both English and Croatian. Also, the bible verse where God gives instructions to Noah after he built the ark is also in English and Crostian. It is bordered with the colors of the rainbow and the corners have embroidered doves. I used stitch in the ditch method of quilting.

Chocolate Covered Cherries - I took Ami Simms' Twisted Sister workshop in March 2009. I was making quilts for my twin granddaughters (born May 17, 2009) and Twisted Sister seemed an appropriate pattern. I made Chocolate Covered Cherries for Ava James Soelke and Mint Chocolate Chip for Mattie Jansen Soelke. LOVE the pattern. Can't wait to make another Twisted Sister!

StarLight - I made this for the Evergreen Quilter's Guild 2008 show challenge. The theme was "Star power and the quilt had to have at least one silver star on the front.
