Chickadees - I wanted to make a McKenna Ryan wall hanging for awhile now. I had some free time the other day and made it all in one day. I used tweezers to help hold the tiny pieces. I gave it to a friend for her birthday.
Neutrally Stars - I loved that pattern in the book, and had been wanting to try a quilt in neutral colors. It is still patiently awaiting to be quilted
Miss Megan - A girly-girl quilt made for 2 year old Megan, my niece. As with all the quilts I'm making for my nephews and my niece, Megan's name in included in the quilt (paper pieced letters)
Love the Holidays - Simple and easy shapes I put together for a class for new quilters on Machine Applique. It explored basic Satin Stitch, Blanket Stitch and the use of fusible web on simple but pleasing shapes. Can be put together as a wall hanging / table cover or length wise as a table runner.
Theresa's Harvest Basket - I saw this in one of my fav mags and challenged my BFF to make it. We each chose our own fabrics and started. Mine took from Dec 2004 to sometime in 2006. My daughter-in-law's kitchen is decorated in a Napa Valley Wine theme and it is perfect there. My BFF just finished hers this year. It was the first quilt I ever entered in a quilt show & it won an Honerable Mention in the 2007 Central Oklahoma Quilt Guild show. (July) I was thrilled!!!
Civil War Sampler - My BFF challenged me and one other BFF to make this quilt the minute we all saw the magazine article. It was total fun choosing our own fabrics and constructing the blocks. I finished the top sometime at the end of 2002 or early 2003. I have yet to complete the quilting. When I have completed it I have promised to send it to my son in Chicago, who has ALWAYS supported and encouraged me to create. Even as a UFO I am proud of this effort.
Our Guilding Compass - I finished this small quilt for the occation of my father's 80th Birthday, July 2009. I took the mariner's compass class in June with my 12 yr old son. For once I finished a class project first.
Rainbow Pineapples - My 12 yr old son Noah made this quilt. He has been quilting for 6 years, we really started together. We took an adult class at Vermont Quilt Festival last year with George Sicliliano and Noah love it.
He got permission to compete as an adult in the festival and won a Blue ribbon in Minitures! We are very proud of him
Lt Commander Data - This is my 10 yr old son Liam. He is an 'on and off' quilter. Sometimes inspired with and idea he just has to accomplish. Such was the case of this quilt . Begun in a kids class at Vermont Quilt Festival last year -I encouraged him to finished it for the competition this year. He enjoyed the attention given to the young quilters and all kids receive a yellow rosette.
Deer in the Fall - The large deer at center are surrounded by 2.5" strips of the fall colors in the panel. It was blessed and tied by the Prayers and Squares group and the congregation of The Church of the Resurrection, Loudon, TN
Gingham and Roses - The young lady is wrapped in the quilt like John Flynn demonstrated on TQS. This prayer quilt was made for Amanada who has multiple myleoma.
