Briar's Log Cabin - First log cabin quilt top made from left over fabric given to me by my mother and quilted by a friend of hers. Adopted by my niece for her first child's nursery in 2008.
Kaleidoscope Chain - I really like looking at Paula Nadelstern's beautiful kaleidoscope quilts BUT totally lacking the talent to make one I jumped at the "cheater fabric" featuring her gorgeous kaleidoscopes. This is my use of that fabric combined with my batiks. This quilt is based on the Chain of Hearts quilt in You Did What With My T-Shirts! book substituting the kaleidoscopes for the hearts. made for my daughter's stepson for his graduation from high school. I made it and she had it quilted.
Un-named - This quilt made for my oldest daughter's high school graduation 25 years ago. 100% hand pieced and hand quilted, including the binding. She had it on a bed for years and the navy blue has faded quite a bit.
Pinwheel Fantasy - Saw this quilt in a Quiltmaker Magazine years ago and just fell in love. Totally hand pieced and hand quilted. Was featured in the 1991 Quilt Art Engagement Calendar June 24-30th. That was quite a thrill!
Gene's Heart Mountain Farm - This is the first machine pieced quilt I made -- I thought the blocks were quite ugly but my husband just loved them so I decided to quilt it up for him. He's a farmer, country farm blocks, so I quilted tractors in the border as he spends lots of time in the tractor.
Funky Flowers - Several of us decided to learn to applique so we used an applique book and made several of the little quilts in the book. This is my favorite one.
Koda - A picture of Koda, a cockapoo, was printed on white fabric. A few layers of batting were used at the snout and nose. Thread painting was used to accentuate the fur.
My Cottage Garden - Batiks & hand dyes make up the 3 dimensional leaves & origami flowers of Kumiko Sudo's flowers in this original design. Machine quilted, hand shashiko by Lori Harris. The butterfly's are 2 matching pieces of butterfly fabric ironed together with Steam-a-Seam 2, folded and hopefully will continue standing!
Mom's Secret Garden - Panel by Michael Miller with fused black gate appliqued, machine quilted. The gate applique is a fusible fabric art kit, 'Autumn Gate' #CDF4101, by The Creative Iron.
Boys Quilts - Ryder, Parker, Enzo & Cody each have a quilt made by Grandma Lori. Novelty fabrics of all things boy and photo transfers, framed, make each quilt unique to each grandson.
Suzanne's Christmas Quilt - Charlottesville Area Quilters Guild workshop class, instructor Trudie Hughes, completed for my daughter, using traditional Christmas colors.
