Starry Starry Night - I was inspited to make this wall hanging having seen many photos of quilts with stained glass windows. It is s Quilt as you go method starting off with 6" squares using the strip method. I zig zagged the squares together and then cut the shape of the winodw. I couched purples cord to make the windows and covered the window with organza and stiched in place. I used silver metallic thread to give a stary like sky.
Play Mat - Play mat for my two grandchildren. First time of stippling. I wanted the quilt to be bright and colourful which I think I have acheived. It is now in New Zealand being used every day.
Lisa's Quilt - Turning Twenty pattern was for my daughter Lisa. She wanted a summer quilt that was done in the colors of her bedroom. A mixture of rose and green colors.
November Nova - I designed this quilt for the "Done in One" (Weekend, that is!) contest from Fons & Porter and Orig. Sewing and Quilting Expo. The ONLY shape you cut to make this quilt is the square! It's named for my son, who was born in November and is definitely a shining star in my life.
Contemporary Batik Quilt Moon and Stars - Multicolored Quilt aimed at delighting small children with patterns and colors to look at. 2" grid pattern with appliqued moon and stars.
Life is Good - Life is Good celebrates canines ability to chill out... something we humans seldom do. I follow the "Legally Blonde" film school of problem solving. When Life gets crazy... I get my nails done... so this lil' pup did too! Look closely at those nails. The main image is painted with inks, the background and foreground are collaged and fused printed fabrics.
Nancy's Baby Quilt - Jackie and I made this for our friend and coworker Nancy for her first baby. Keeping the colors straight between blocks was hard! We had to take pictures and refer back to them.
Max's Quilt - I frequently fussy cut novelty prints and sash with bright green and yellow accents. Nice pop and gender neutral (if you like neon green :-) ) Minkee on the back to cuddle up with.
Marissa's Quilt - Cute quilt for my step-niece. First attempt at machine quilting and scalloped borders. Still haven't figured out how to bind a scalloped border though. Doh!
Carpenter Star - This is a 36" square quilt that is very easy to make. There are no Y seams in the quilt! This quilt was made and donated as a raffle quilt to benefit Vocations in the Archdiocese of Washington. I don't know who won the quilt!
Just You and Me - Saw this in a picture , can't rember where. Took a picture and went off that to make this old time fancy dresser setting. It was fun.
