Linda's Grandmother Garden

Linda's Grandmother Garden - This quilt was made for my sister's 60th birthday. The main colors are pink and blue, but I chose many small prints in a full range of pastels. I used two inch plastic templates to sew each block together. There are 20 large flowers and 12 small flowers which I appliqued to the blue dotted background. It took 3 years to complete this quilt. I presented to my sister Christmas 2006. She loves it!

Charlene's Comfort - I made this quilt for a friend recovering from neck surgery. A group of friends wrote her words of encouragement in each signature block. 11/2011 UPDATE: My dear friend, Charlene, passed away from Rheumatoid Arthritis. I hope this quilt continues to comfort her loving husband.

Ayodele - A small wall quilt that uses Adinkra symbols from the Ghanaian Ashanti tribe. The occasion was M. Ayodele's 30th birthday. All the symbols were sketched freehand and then cut into applique templates.

Bold Pinwheels

Bold Pinwheels - Ginny Beyer fabrics upon a black tone on tone background. Colorwheel used as an aid for color and block placements rather than using color value placements- I wanted the eyes to dance around this quilt in appreciation of color. Not shown in photo is a wide border with more pinwheels. The quilting is in a swirl pattern to portray pinwheel movement.

Redwork - I taught my mother-in-law how to redwork and she liked it so much that she kept going. We had this idea to put the redworked blocks into a quilt. It was given to her granddaughter for her birthday.
Tessellating Stars

Tessellating Stars - This quilt is a product of a class at Quilt University using exclusively Thimbleberries fabrics. I used my EQ5 program to print out a layout of the quilt which I colered in with crayons. Joining this block pattern was confusing and I referred to my paper frequently. Eventually, making this quilt became addictive. However, I didn't finish it as we had to pack up and move. I have the piano keys border all set to go and hope to finish it soon.

Green Tea - This quilt is made entirely of green scraps and fat quarters. Even the back is green!! My daughter named it, Anna, named it.
