Endangered - Appearing In Winter 2008 issue of Machine Quilting Unlimited: Tragically, the African elephant continues to be a target of illegal ivory poachers thus the high contrast showcasing their beautiful tusks. The cattle egret you see atop the animal accompanies the elephant in hopes of picking up insects rising into the air as the elephant lumbers along.

Windsong - Appearing in 2009 Fons and Porter Love of Quilting, "Windsong: showcases the majesty of the horse finding himself in an evening windstorm. This is a wholecloth painted with ink surface created in a watercolor style.

Kat Visits Pompeii - This was a journal quilt created last year after a trip to Italy. My daughter often complains about not going with her Dad and I, so I decided, with the help of photoshop to put her in Pompeii.

Drunk in the Jungle - After seeing Louisa Smith on TQS, this technique interested me so bought her book and templates (basic 1 & 2) and then went to work using stash pieces (some I seamed here and there!). THis was funa nd I was happy with the results - not as hard as it loks. Am anxious to try another one soon!

Noah's Ark - Lisa Moore taught this class on a Quilt for a Cure cruise. It is constructed with fabrics designed by Jim Shore. He was there and signed the quilt. It has several interesting techniques, including a dimensional wave. I am saving it for a future greatgrandchild.

Desert Blend - After piecing in the circle, each block is embroidered ion 8-9 hoopings. My colors are quite different than those called for, but I think they work well. I used my embroidery machine and learned a lot.

Desert Glow - The French Braid technique gave me a chance to experiement with colors, giving a glow from the center out. The inner border picks up the color.

Steps from the Sea - Original design using various sizes of "flip flops" on a water scene background. I quilted it heavily with McTavishing technique and freemotion thread painting.
Shadow Wreath

Shadow Wreath - The flowers are cut and fused, then appliqued with decorative thread used to show veins, leaves, etc. Then the whole center is covered with organza, borders added, and quilted heavily. I used a flange in the final border and scalloped the edge. Our quilt guild selected this design to make a queen sized raffle quilt benefiting the humane society.

Roses & Love - I designed this to use some coordinated fabric in my stash. I played by folding the fabric and cut hexagons and riangles that fit together. Using the green flange, binding and dimensional wave calmed the busy print and tied it together.

Disney Dreams

Disney Dreams - I made this quilt for my friend for Christmas last year. We had gone to disneyland 5 times together during 2008. So I adapted a pattern I found in a magazine and added pictures of her and her daughter in disneyland. Then for the quilting I used my Cricket Cutting machine and used silloettes of Disney Charecters to quilt on the quilt and for the border. It was a ton of fun to make and it only took 2 weeks from my first shopping trip for fabric to my last stitch.

Landscape for Margaret - This was a guild challenge. Given a bag of "scraps," make something out of them. I chose to make a landscape, as there were some fancy fabrics and trims in my bag.

Naughty or Nice - I designed this Christmas wall hanging for my company 3 Quacks Quilting N Stuff LLC. It shows to elfs, Sanata and Rudolf peeking in thru a window. It is very festive and fun for Christmas time. The pattern is available at ww.3quacksquilting.com
