My husband photographed it, and I used an oversized copy machine to print the photo to size. I traced the outline of the carving, and then quilted it using silk threads. The fabrics in the quilt are hand-dyed cotton sateen from Jeanette Viviano. The colors are my version of UM's maize and blue. My quilting patterns were inspired by the work of Diane Gaudynski. The quilt was a gift for the Dean of the Rackham Graduate School.
