Corn and Beans for Butterbean - This was a group quilt, blocks made by the Lallyquilters, an online quilting group. I put them together and hand quilted it for one of the ladies who was having a baby. She referred to her baby as "Butterbean" before she knew what the baby's gender would be, so we went with the theme..
blue pin wheels and tulips - this was Clive and I's first large quilt. It only took us two weeks to complete (but we are a bit obsessive), clive did all of the cutting and i did all of the machine piecing and the quilting.
princess - our very first quilt. we made this for a little girl who is an Indian Princess and is our god daughter.
it was to be for her crib, but her parents liked it so much it went on the wall!
this quilt shows that we are only just starting out. DONT use printed checks unless you can be sure that that they are printed on the straight grain!
claudia's big mistake - big mistake!, this quilt was made in satin, slid all over the place and frayed really badly whilst we were sewing it. NEVER AGAIN!
Mountain Valley Lanes - Made for son and daughter-in-law. Design and colors chosen by dil. Background was pieced and handquilted with size 8 pearl cotton. Then applique of layered flowers and vines was added.
Callie's Very Hungry Caterpillar - Fabric based on Eric Carle book. Made for granddaughter, 3 years old. Paired with a copy of the book, it is a fun and educational.
Christmas in Baltimore - I took a one year class at a local quilt shop that taught Elly's 'Baltimore Beauties and Beyond' patterns. It took me two years to complete because I also hand quilted it. It won 2nd place in it's catagory at the CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION OF QUILTS 2007 in Oklahoma City.
Dream - My daughter bought the pattern and border fabric for me Mothers Day 2000 (3rd grade). I finished it on Mother's Day 2008 (she was a junior). It took a while to hand applique, so I decided to have it machine quilted so she could have it before she graduated!
Burning Cookie Calories - This was colored with Crayola crayons on 200 thread count 100% cotton broadcloth. It is embellished with glitter gel pens and Swarovski Crystals. It was SO fun to make.....I love the smell of a new box of crayons...yep, I'm just that weird.
