Paul's Harley T-Shirt Quilt

I had never made a t-shirt quilt before and I finally made this for my brother.  He likes to go on trips all over with a group of friends on their Harleys.  My brother was having a not very good year healthwise.  He was diagnosed with Type 2 diabeties, high blood presure, found a spot on his lung, and tore his meniscus and ACL and was going to have surgery.  I thought maybe a t-shirt quilt would be a nice thing to have while he recovered from his surgery.  While I was home at Thanksgiving I had him gather up his t-shirts that he wanted me to use.  He gave me about 40 of them.  He has a whole closet full.  I only had less then a month to complete it.  I used the Quilters Select Fusible interfacting to stablize the t-shirt blocks.  The t-shirts blocks are 15" square.  Then I added 2" wide borders to the t-shirt blocks and sewed them together.  It is quilted with a flame style quilting design using grey 50wt Aurifil thread.  It was a fun quilt to make and he loved it.
