There were long stays in hospitals in Portsmouth and San Antonio while foot re-construction, toe amputations, and knee replacements were done. I needed something I could control while my life was spinning out of control. I chose bright batiks to lift my spirits while I waited. I hand stitched the quilt while my husband was being stitched back together. It took two years to complete the quilt...it is taking longer for my husband, but there is power in prayer.
