rutterla A Beach Runs Through It - For our 2013 Quilt Show, the Washington Stars Quilt Guild did a challenge called, "A River Runs Through It." The challenge required the quilts to be 21" square, with some form of "river" in the bottom third of the quilt. I included the beach and plumeria in the design because they hold special places in my heart. I hand painted the entire quilt top, as a single piece, then layered and quilted it.
