Hearts to Love You Stars to Guide You - My Grandmother made the patches for this quilt about 1945. They were intended to be my baby quilt. My mother gave me the patches when I turned 40 (1985) along with left over fabric. So I designed and quilted my own baby quilt. It literally was my first quilt in more ways than one. I used the extra fabric for sashing and corner blocks. By that time in my life I had discovered that no matter where I went in life I found hearts to love me and stars to guide so I used those motifs in the blocks and scattered along the paths between the blocks. The fabric was thin to start and it is fading. I have it over the back of a chair in my dinning room where I can enjoy it. I finished the quilt about 1985.
