Alternating blocks of nine-patch and hand appliqued, needle turned, butterflies, using reproduction and antique 1930's and 1940's prints and hand dyed fabrics. The borders are scalloped and the quilting was quilted on a Nolting, with the butterfly motifs derived from tracing the applique pattern. It took 1 year to complete. |
